Well that was another fantastic event this year with 75 riders taking part in the gruelling 170km ride.

The weather started out alright in the morning as we headed off from the Casino. Luckily group 5 that headed off first made it to Beauty Point lunch stop before the rain hit and enjoyed standing undercover as the remaining groups rolled in very wet. A big thanks to Synectic Group for providing the lunch to keep us all fed for the last 80 odd km back to the Casino.

The second half of the ride was very scenic along the Tamar River once the Sidmouth climb was over with and before we headed up the Bridgenorth hill (This is where I think my name was spoken in not so glowing terms) and back to the Casino for the finish and a well earnt refreshment or two.

For those that stayed for the dinner and Auction that night they got to enjoy another great evening. Our special guests Sarah and Jen from Holman Clinic provided our table with some good laughs and Sarah gave us all a great insight the fantastic role they provide to the community and also where our funding would be utilised.

And to finish off the evening those present will never forget the Auction performed by the highly entertaining Leigh Barker where some great items were picked up.

I would like to finish by thanking everyone involved from the riders, their families, our wonderful sponsors and all our volunteers on the day. We were able to raise $15000 to donate to our 3 recipients which has now lifted our overall tally to over $100000 given away across 5 years.

Cheers Mark
